CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Browns turned their pass rushers loose on Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Kyle Orton.

Making his fourth career NFL start, Orton was sacked four times and hurried into making forced throws in other instances. He lost one fumble.

Limited to quick drops and short throws underneath coverage, Orton, hoping to beat the pass rush, finished the game 16-of-26 for 117 yards in the Browns' 20-10 win at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

"We had to keep the pressure on him,"' said defensive end Alvin McKinley, who recorded one sack. "He is young with happy feet, so we stayed after him the whole game and we accomplished that."

Compensating for a lack of push along the front line, Cleveland's defensive coaches found other ways to pressure Orton by utilizing blitz packages.

McKinley was the only lineman to record a sack. Linebacker Chaun Thompson, strong safety Chris Crocker, and free safety Brodney Pool also had sacks.

Crocker, who played a strong game with nine tackles and one assist, also forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble.

Crocker's sack of Orton late in the fourth quarter resulted in a fumble, which Crocker recovered.

Two plays later, Trent Dilfer hit Antonio Bryant with a 28-yard touchdown pass for a 20-10 lead.

MILESTONES FOR DILFER: Trent Dilfer made his 100th NFL career start yesterday.

In addition, with two touchdown tosses, Difler recorded career touchdown passes Nos. 100 and 101.

Also, Dilfer, who passed for 218 yards against Chicago, surpassed 18,000 career passing yards. He's now at 18,071 yards.

BRAYLON DOESN'T PLAY: Browns rookie wideout Braylon Edwards was inactive for yesterday's game.

Coach Romeo Crennel said Edwards complained of discomfort in his elbow at Saturday's walkt-hrough. Edwards, who practiced all week, was treated for an elbow infection at a local hospital.

Crennel said the injury isn't considered serious, but he doesn't know when Edwards will return to practice or if he can play Sunday at Baltimore.
