NFL picks: Will E. Wynn

11/6/2005

(For entertainment purposes only)

Will E. Wynn failed unit management 101. He's also failing miserably in this space. It got so bad last week, Will E.'s name was misspelled.

If Will E. doesn't win this week, he'll be singing ''He's Gone'' a take off on Hall and Oates' popular single.

Will E. should be starring in ''Dead Man Walking.''

Enough of Will E. bashing. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Here's the menu and the selections for this week:

Detroit (even) over Minnesota: The Love Boat meets the Poseidon Adventure, but enough with the nautical terms. Expect Joey Harrington to play better and the Lions to rally around him. Hey, Mike Williams, how about catching a ball or two when it counts. Lions for 100 units.

Cincinnati (minus-3) over Baltimore: The Ravens are more anemic than Will E.'s picks, even though they played the Steelers even up on Monday night. The Bengals will definitely have the best quarterback in Carson Palmer. Bengals for 100 units.

Raiders (plus-4) over Chiefs: Don't look now, but the Raiders are playing solid football. Raiders for 100 units.

Philadelphia (plus-3) over Washington: Sure, the Eagles are hurting. Somehow, some way, they find an alternative to losing without T.O. Eagles for 100 units.

Indianapolis (minus-3) over New England: Yeah, yeah, Will E. knows, the Colts don't play well against the Patriots. This, however, is a new season and the Colts find a way to punish their nemesis. Will E. expects an Indy win. That's why there's a larger unit allowance than normal. Colts for 200 units

Season: 14-20-2

100-unit wagers: 4-4

Unit total: Started with mythical 500 units, down 600 units and looking for redemption.
