UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Monroe's Bronco McKart suffered a major setback in his comeback attempt when NABF middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik of Youngstown stopped him in the sixth round by way of technical knockout on Thursday night at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

McKart, a former WBO light middleweight champion, had never lost a professional fight by way of TKO. The 35-year-old's professional record is 48-7-0 (31 KOs) after dropping his fourth fight in his last seven bouts.

The bout, which represented the first boxing match to air on cable station OLN, represented McKart's first fight since posting a unanimous decision over Jose Spearman at the Toledo Sports Arena in May after a 19-month hiatus from boxing.

Pavlik dropped McKart to the canvas twice in the sixth round with the scheduled 12-round fight being stopped at the 2:45 mark of the round.

Pavlik, 24, improved to 28-0 (25 KOs).
