NFL picks: Will E. Wynn

10/22/2006

Will E. is stuck on the treadmill of mediocrity and about to fall into the depths of despair if things don't perk up.

Good week, bad week, bad week, half-decent week, which all leads up to last week when W.E.W. was simply pathetic. Another 2-3 week, and a loss of 150 units. Will E.'s creditors are getting antsy, and it's time to put up or shut up. Will E. dined on prime rib from Eddie Lee's in Toledo so he's ready for Prime Time this week.

  • N.Y. JETS (minus-3 1/2) over Detroit: You don't really think the Tigers' success has rubbed off on the Lions, do you? Jets for 100 units.

  • Philadelphia (minus-5 1/2) over TAMPA BAY: Bruce Gradkowski, the former UT quarterback, has stepped into a good situation. He threw for two scores last week against the Bengals. But the Eagles have a recipe to defeat young qbs - blitz high, blitz low, blitz in between. Eagles for 100 units.

  • BROWNS (plus-5) over Denver: How long will it be before Jake Plummer becomes a high-priced clipboard holder for the Broncs? Browns rejuvenated by week off and ready to roll. Browns for 100 units.

  • Arizona (minus-3) over OAKLAND: How will the Cardinals react to last week's meltdown? It's just the Raiders. Cardinals for 100 units.

  • Pittsburgh (minus-2 1/2) over ATLANTA: Big Ben and the Steelers found their groove last week. Atlanta won't be able to stop the other Willie (Parker), either. Steelers for 250 units.
