CLEVELAND - The Tigers placed pitcher Todd Jones on the 15-day disabled list today and recalled Clay Rapada from Toledo.

Rapada's stay with the Tigers will be short-lived. Kyle Farnsworth, who Detroit acquired in yesterday's trade that sent Pudge Rodriguez to the New York Yankees, will join the Tigers tomorrow in Tampa.

Jones is on the DL with inflammation in his right shoulder. He complained of the injury following Detroit's improbable 14-12 victory over the Indians in 13 innings that ended early Thursday morning.

Jones pitched 1 1/3 innings in that game, allowing a two-run homer to Kelly Shoppach.

Rapada was 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 30 strikeouts with the Mud Hens. He last pitched for the Tigers on June 9th against Cleveland.
