Tyson's daughter dies after treadmill accident
5/27/2009PHOENIX - Police say the 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson has died a day after her neck accidentally was caught in a treadmill cord while she was playing at home.
Phoenix police spokesman Andy Hill said Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon Tuesday. Police have said an investigation showed it was a "tragic accident."
Police say the girl was playing on the treadmill when her head apparently slipped inside a cord hanging under the console.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- A racing official says all flood waters have been pumped out of Daytona International Speedway, and the facility will be ready for the Coke Zero 400 race on the Fourth of July.
A speedway spokesman said the speedway was not damaged.
Several days of rain drenched Daytona Beach and flooded two parts of the speedway. None of the water ever was on the track.
• INDIANAPOLIS - IndyCar driver Vitor Meira could be out four months after breaking two vertebrae in his back during the Indianapolis 500.
IndyCar spokesman John Griffin said Meira could return to his Florida home by Saturday.

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State coach Bobby Bowden will have to wait a little longer to find out if he'll lose up to 14 victories.
The NCAA gave its Committee on Infractions until Tuesday to respond to Florida State's appeal of sanctions resulting from an academic cheating scandal.
They include taking as many as 14 wins off Bowden's coaching record. That would make it difficult for Bowden to catch Penn State's Joe Paterno in their race for most victories among major college coaches.
Paterno, 82, has 383 wins - one ahead of Bowden, who will turn 80 in November.
Bowden is set to be replaced by the 2011 season.
