Juli Inkster, Natalie Gulbis, and Ai Miyazato have committed to play in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger, June 29-July 5 at Highland Meadows Golf Club.

Inkster, a LPGA Hall of Fame member, has won 31 LPGA titles and has earned more than $12.5 million since joining the tour in 1983.

Gulbis has two top-10 finishes this year, and Miyazato has four top-10 finishes in nine tournaments.

The tournament has received commitments from 18 of the top 20 players on this year's LPGA money list, including Paula Creamer, Lorena Ochoa, Cristie Kerr, Suzann Pettersen, Angela Stanford, Brittany Lincicome, Michelle Wie, and Katherine Hull.

"This is shaping up to be the strongest field we've ever had," tournament director Judd Silverman said. "When you add Nancy Lopez and Se Ri Pak to the list of committed players, it is truly a dream field."

Tickets for this year's tournament can be purchased at any Toledo area Kroger store for a special discounted rate of 2 for 1 on weekly grounds tickets.

•GERMANTOWN, Tenn. - John Daly makes his return to the PGA Tour this week. His return to the U.S. Open will have to wait.

Daly managed only four birdies over 36 holes in a U.S. Open qualifier yesterday and didn't come close to getting one of the 13 spots available in Tennessee. He had a 1-under 70 in the morning at Ridgewood and a 2-over 73 in the afternoon at Germantown.

The PGA Tour has lifted its six-month suspension of Daly, who will tee it up Thursday at the St. Jude Classic.

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Vikings reportedly have told Brett Favre to decide this week if he wants to play this year.

Coach Brad Childress imposed the deadline on the star quarterback, according to ESPN. The network cited two unidentified sources on its Web site. The Sirius NFL Radio network, however, reported last night, without citing a source, that a deadline is not in place.

When Favre retired in February for the second time, he blamed a partially torn biceps tendon for his poor play late in the season for the New York Jets.
