Bobby East continued his hot streak by winning the 30-lap AMSOIL USAC Pavement Sprint Car race Friday night on Jerry Nemire Appreciation Night at Toledo Speedway.

The Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness USAC racing event at the Benore Road track also included a display of vintage open-wheel race cars, a racers reunion, and honored Nemire, the Toledo native and former USAC Sprint Car Series driver.

East, an Indiana racer who won the previous two pavement USAC Silver Crown races on the schedule, edged Tanner Swanson by less than one-tenth of a second in last night's race.

Swanson had been the fastest in qualifying earlier in the evening.

East's Klatt Motorsports Classic Car Sales/East Enterprises Beast/Chevy led for the final 19 laps of the race after East worked his way around early front-runner Brian Gerster with a pass on the bottom of turn one.

Chris Windom was third, followed by Bobby Santos III, with Gerster finishing fourth. Following the race, Santos, East and Swanson were separated by just two points in the chase for the USAC Pavement Sprint Car title.

The next event on the schedule for the USAC Pavement Sprint cars is Thursday at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.
