Penske Racing president Tim Cindric announced today that Defiance native Sam Hornish, Jr., will drive in the Sprint Cup event two weeks from now in Indianapolis, if AJ Allmendinger is not available to drive.

NASCAR temporarily suspended Allmendinger two weeks ago after he failed a ramdom drug test. Allmendinger has requested that his "B" sample be tested, and said through his business manager that he tested positive for a stimulant. If Allmendinger's "B" sample tests negative, NASCAR can reinstate him.
