Teen sensation Lydia Ko is the latest LPGA standout to commit to the Marathon Classic, presented by Owens Corning and O-I.

Ko won her third LPGA tournament last weekend, scoring a birdie on the last hole to edge Toledo native Stacy Lewis in the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in California. The win vaulted Ko to No. 2 in the world rankings.

Lewis, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie, Inbee Park, and Paula Creamer are among golfers who earlier signed up for the Marathon Classic, set for July 17-20 at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania.

“Receiving Lydia Ko’s commitment is the icing on the cake for us,” Marathon Classic director Judd Silverman said Wednesday. We now have nine of the top 10 players on this year’s money list committed to play in this year’s tournament.”

Ko, who recently celebrated her 17th birthday, has posted three LPGA wins and has four top-10 finishes already in 2014.
