BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have taken Nevada offensive tackle Joel Bitonio with the No. 35 overall pick in the NFL draft on Friday night.

The team had been expected to take a wide receiver in the second round after ESPN reported that Pro Bowler Josh Gordon has failed another drug test — for marijuana — and is facing an indefinite suspension.

Gordon was suspended for the first two games last season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy for the second time. Still, he led the NFL with 1,646 yards receiving.

The ESPN report was based on anonymous sources who described letters Gordon received about the failed test. The Browns deferred any comment on Gordon's situation to the league office.

At 6-foot-4, 302 pounds, Bitonio can also play guard.
