Toledo had 18 shots to win their sixth straight game Wednesday in Cincinnati, but the Cyclones’ Anthony Peters turned away all of them and blanked the Walleye, 1-0.

Walleye goalkeeper Matej Machovsky finished with 16 saves, and his only miscue came in the second period. Forward Justin Danforth lifted the Cyclones (8-5-1) with the go-ahead goal, which was assisted by center Shawn O’Donnell.

The Walleye (11-3-2) had just defeated the Cyclones twice last weekend, including a 6-2 blowout last Friday in Cincinnati. They play at Fort Wayne on Thursday night, exactly a week after Christian Hilbrich’s hat trick led to a 6-3 Walleye home win over the Komets. Game time for Thursday is set for 7:30 p.m. The Walleye next play at home Friday against the Worchester Railers.
