Local home sales climb

Home sales climbed in Lucas County and northwest Ohio last month, but the average sales price dropped, new figures show.

There were 381 sales in September in Lucas County, up 5 percent from 363 a year ago, and there were 603 sales last month across several counties in northwest Ohio, up 3 percent from 588 a year ago, according to the Toledo Board of Realtors.

The average sales price was $98,000 in Lucas County, down 9 percent from a year ago. The average price in northwest Ohio ws $106,000, down 5 percent from the year before.

Home sales to date this year in Lucas County are nearly identical to last year, at 3,146, but at 4,879 still trail by 2 percent the sales last year in northwest Ohio, the board report said.
