Local home sales jumped last month

Sales of existing homes rose steeply in November from last year in Lucas County and across northwest Ohio, the Toledo Board of Realtors said Tuesday.

In Lucas County, 372 homes sold last month for an average price of $98,482. Sales were up 21 percent from a year earlier and prices rose 15 percent. Prices also increased from October when the average used home cost $96,000, but the number of sales slipped in November from 414 the prior month.

Across northwest Ohio, 562 homes sold last month for an average of $106,320, reflecting a 17 percent rise in sales and 14 percent increase in prices. Sales fell from 632 in October but average prices were up from $102,000.
