Late payments of local home loans up in March

Mortgage payment delinquencies rose again in metro Toledo in March, the 12th month in a row, a report shows.

Local home loans with payments 90 days or more late rose to 8.23 percent in March, up from 8 percent in February and 5.73 percent in March, 2009, according to CoreLogic, a California real-estate data tracking agency. The study released this week shows the metro Toledo delinquency rate in March higher than the 7.81 percent rate for Ohio but lower than the 8.93 percent rate nationally.

The foreclosure rate in metro Toledo was 3.21 percent of mortgages, CoreLogic found, higher than the 3.09 percent rate for Ohio but lower than the 3.23 percent rate nationally.
