Metro Toledo home prices, including those associated with distressed sales, decreased 0.9 percent in March from the same month a year ago, according to a report released Tuesday by real estate data firm CoreLogic Inc.

The Toledo statistics, which were part of the firm's March home price index, showed that when distressed sales are excluded, area home prices increased by 3.6 percent. Distressed sales include short sales and those involving bank-owned homes.

Nationally, home prices declined 0.6 percent in March from a year earlier.

However, when distressed sales were excluded, home prices nationally rose by 0.9 percent, the third consecutive month that prices have risen, according to CoreLogic, which is based in Santa Ana, Calif.
