Real estate tax bills due by Thursday in Bedford Twp.
2/11/2013Treasurer Paul Francis reminds township property owners that 2012 winter real estate tax bills are due on or before Thursday. A 3 percent penalty will be assessed for payments received after that day.
Taxes can be paid by mail, in person at the government center, or these bank branches: Fifth Third Bank in Lambertville, Citizens Bank in Temperance, or any branch of Monroe Bank and Trust in Monroe County.
A taxpayer may be able to defer payment until April 30 if his or her homestead tax bill is greater than 3.5 percent of household income that is no more than $50,000, or the taxable property value does not exceed $135,000. A taxpayer also can get the postponement if he or she is at least 65 and is disabled.
