Sales of single-family homes in Lucas County and northern Wood County were down 2 percent in April compared to last year, according to the Toledo Board of Realtors.

The Realtors group said 429 homes sold, down from 438 in April, 2012. The average price of $95,413 was also down 2 percent from last year.

A total of 813 listings were added to the inventory in April, which was down 10 percent from last April. For the year, new listings are down 11 percent.

Experts have said that nationwide, a decreased supply of available homes has caused prices to rise.

For the entire Northwest Ohio Real Estate Information System, sales in April were up 1 percent to 595. The average price of $97,801 was virtually unchanged from a year earlier.
