Foreclosures remain steady in Toledo area

The number of Toledo-area homes that had a foreclosure filing in January was about the same as in January, 2013, according to RealtyTrac.

There were 363 filings — default notices, scheduled auctions, and bank repossessions — last month. That’s down from 367 a year earlier. Filings were up 18 percent in Lucas County, but down 49 percent in Wood County, 45 percent in Ottawa County, and 23 percent in Fulton County, according to the California real estate data company.

Ohio had 31 percent fewer filings than last January.
