An estimated 200 Ursuline Sisters from throughout the United States and Canada are gathering at the religious order's Toledo campus, 4045 Indian Rd., this weekend to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Ursuline Sisters of Toledo.

The theme of the yearlong sesquicentennial observance is "Celebrating God's Faithfulness." A closing ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 12 with Toledo Bishop Leonard Blair presiding.

Today's activities begin at 11:30 a.m. with a prayer service in the Ursuline Center Chapel, followed by dinner at noon in the activities center. Tours of the campus will be conducted until 3 p.m.

The Ursulines came from Boulogne Sur-Mer, France, to Cleveland in 1850 and were asked by Bishop Amadeus Rappe to establish a school and convent in Toledo in 1854.
