CrossRoads breaks ground for new church

10/16/2004

CrossRoads Community Church broke ground Sunday on its new $6.5 million facility in Whiteford Township, Mich., adjacent to U.S. Hwy. 23 near the Sterns Road exit.

Plans for the church, founded in the late 1800s as Temperance Free Methodist Church, feature a 1,000-seat auditorium on the 38-acre site at 6990 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd, Ottawa Lake, according to the Rev. Glenn Teal, lead pastor.

A member of the Willow Creek Association, CrossRoads serves more than 1,300 people in three Sunday-morning services at its current facility, 1590 West Temperance Rd., Temperence, Mich.

The new church is scheduled to open in the fall of 2005.
