Relics from Passion to be displayed in Detroit church

DETROIT Relics associated with Christ s Passion will be on display from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 6 at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrement, 9844 Woodward Ave.

Cardinal Adam Maida, archbishop of Detroit, will celebrate Mass at 10 a.m. A Stations of the Cross will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., and a closing prayer at 7 p.m. Quiet veneration of the relics will be observed the rest of the day.

Included in the display, part of a national tour organized by the Apostolate for Holy Relics, will be framed pieces of the cross, the shroud, the crown of thorns, the column where Jesus was scourged, and replicas of nails believed to have been used 2,000 years ago to crucify Christ, according to the Detroit Archdiocese.
