Classes scheduled on medical ethics, Shabbat

Rabbi Barry Leff of the Congregation B'nai Israel will be teaching two classes this week, "Medical Ethics: Fertility, Abortion, Euthanasia" 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and "Shabbat Demystified," at 9:30 a.m. March 19 at the synagogue, 2727 Kenwood Blvd.

The medical ethics class is part of an adult education series by Rabbi Leff titled "Between God and Man: The Ritual Commandments," which continues March 23 and April 6.

"Shabbat Demystified" explains Jewish rituals according to the Torah, with Rabbi Leff leading a Shabbat service with "footnotes" explaining "what we are doing and why."
