New superior named for Little Sisters of Poor

11/12/2005

Sister Constance Veit has been appointed superior of the Little Sisters of the Poor at Sacred Heart Homes in Oregon. She succeeds Sister Judith Meredith, who was transferred to the Little Sisters home for the aged in Indianapolis.

Prior to her Oregon appointment, Sister Contance had served on the Provincial Council of the Little Sisters Chicago province, which includes the western United States.

Sacred Heart Home on South Wynn Road houses 73 elderly people as well as a community of 11 Little Sisters. The Little Sisters of the Poor were founded in Brittany, France, in 1839 and established in northwest Ohio in 1885.
