United Methodists' conference will be available live online

NASHVILLE - The United Methodist Church's 2008 General Conference, scheduled for April 23 to May 2 in Fort Worth, Texas, will be viewable online through live video streaming of worship, special addresses, celebrations, and selected plenary sessions.

"The Internet is the window into the General Conference for people around the world," said the Rev. Larry Hollon, head of the denomination's communications agency. "Our goal is to be the on-line leader among major denominational organizations.

About 1,000 delegates from around the world will participate in the legislative conference, held once every four years. Proceedings will be available at www.umc.org.
