Toledo bishop assigns 13 priests, 2 deacons to new posts

Bishop Leonard Blair of the Toledo Catholic Diocese has announced new assignments for 13 priests and two deacons, with most of the personnel moves effective July 1.

Among the new appointments is that of the Rev. David Nuss to the faculty of Central Catholic High School in Sandusky effective July 1. The appointment comes nearly a year after Father Nuss was placed on sabbatical after acknowledging a "consensual but inappropriate" relationship with a woman.

Father Nuss, 42, will continue to serve as associate pastor of St. Mary Parish, Sandusky, a post to which Bishop Blair appointed him in December.

Here are the other personnel moves announced by the bishop:

•The Rev. David Beck, associate pastor of St. Clement Parish, Toledo, will be associate pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Lima.

•The Rev. John Brennen will serve as associate pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Galion, in addition to his responsibilities as associate pastor pro tempore of St. Peter Parish, Mansfield.

•The Rev. Eric Culler, ordained May 31, will be associate pastor of St. Mary Parish, Tiffin, and Saint Pius X Parish, Sycamore.

•The Rev. Robert Dendinger, pastor of St. Bernard Parish in New Washington, will be pastor of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, Upper Sandusky.

•The Rev. Douglas Garand, associate pastor at St. Mary in Sandusky as well as chaplain of St. Mary Central Catholic High School, will be pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Toledo.

•The Rev. Timothy Ferris has been appointed to the faculty of Central Catholic High School, Lima.

•The Rev. Edward Littelmann, pastor at St. Clement Parish in Toledo, will serve as associate pastor of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, Toledo.

•The Rev. John Miller, ordained May 31, will be associate pastor of St. Rose Parish, Perrysburg.

•The Rev. David Ross, pastor of St. Mary Parish, Tiffin, and Saint Pius X Parish, Sycamore, will be pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Lima.

•The Rev. Dominic Savyo has been appointed associate pastor of Christ the King Parish, Toledo.

•The Rev. Jonathan Wight, pastor of All Saints Parish, Rossford, will serve as pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Bellevue.

•The Rev. Michael Geiger has been appointed as pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, Crestline, and Sacred Heart Parish, Bethlehem, effective Aug. 4.

•Deacon Kishore Kottana will serve at St. Mary Parish, Sandusky.

•Deacon Richard Kozek of All Saints Parish, Rossford, has been granted senior status, or retirement, effective June 2.
