Adrian nun to head Catholic Charities board

ADRIAN, Mich. Sister Donna Markham, prioress of the Adrian Dominican Congregation, has been elected chairman of the Catholic Charities USA's board of directors.

Sister Donna has been a professed member of the Adrian Dominican Congregation since 1968, and began her career as a graduate instructor at St. John's Provincial Seminary.

She worked as a clinical psychologist at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, was named a fellow in the Academy of Clinical Psychologists, and spent 10 years as president and CEO of the Southdown Institute in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.

'Sister Donna will lead Catholic Charities USA into our second century of service and advocacy on behalf of the poor,' siad the Rev. Larry Snyder, president of the organization.
