Pets to be blessed in honor of St. Francis

Blessing of the Animals services will be held at a number of local churches this weekend in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures.

St. Michael's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4718 Brittany Rd., Ottawa Hills, will have a blessing of the pets at 10 a.m. today. Pets will be blessed at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Trinity Episcopal Church, One Trinity Plaza in downtown Toledo, and at 9:30 and 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Church, 1375 Sylvania Ave.
