Three nuns to celebrate 50 years in religious life

JOLIET, Ill. — Three Joliet Franciscan nuns with ties to the Toledo area will celebrate their 50th anniveraries in religious life this week in a celebration set for June 19.

Sister Lourdes Boyer, a Toledo native, taught music and math in Illinois and was an organist at Immaculate Conception Parish in Toledo. She was General Secretary for the congregation in 1984.

Sister Geraldine Podobnik of Joliet served as a nurse, a program coordinator, and a department supervisor at St. Vincent, Flower, and St. Charles hospitals in the Toledo area.

Sister Rosemary Winter, a Toledo native, attended Immaculate Conception Grade School in Toledo and ministered in the field of education for 44 years.
