MONROE — Sister Margaret Brennan of the Sisters, Immaculate Heart of Mary received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious at the association's annual assembly in Dallas on Aug. 13.

The award is given to people and groups who show a commitment to the ministry of leadership and faithfulness to Gospel values, among other things.

Sister Brennan is a former president of the IHM Sisters, a theologian, and former Leadership Conference president. Her book, What Was There for Me Once, received second place in June from the Catholic Press Association in its biography category.
