BLADE STAFF

The Toledo Catholic Diocese will host a White Mass for health-care workers at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd.

Bishop Leonard Blair will be the celebrant.

The White Mass is so named because health-care workers traditionally wear white coats, and because white is a symbol of hope in the church.

After the Mass, a reception will be held featuring the Rev. Earl Fernades, academic dean at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary and assistant professor of moral theology. He will speak on “The Catholic Church and the Response to the Challenge of HIV/AIDS among the Married.” Cost is $15.
