Pets blessed in Rossford

Sixth-grader Courteney Hardy holds the holy water for the Rev. Kent Kaufman while he blesses a dog at All Saints Catholic School in Rossford. At Father Kaufman's feet is fourth grader Hope Yost. For the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi yesterday, the school held a ‘blessing of the pets' ceremony to commemorate his love for all creatures. St. Francis died Oct. 4, 1226, and was made a saint in 1228.
