NEW YORK -- The number of anti-Semitic incidents reported in the United States last year remained constant from 2009, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

The league, which tallied reports of assaults, vandalism, and harassment linked to anti-Semitism, said 1,239 incidents occurred in 2010 compared to 1,211 the year before.

“While we have come a long way in society as Jews have been accepted into the mainstream, America is still not immune to anti-Semitism and bigotry,” Abraham Foxman, league national director, said.

The audit said the anti-Semitic incidents in 2010 involved 22 physical assaults, 900 cases of harassment and threats, and 317 cases of vandalism.
