Ursuline nun to lead national vicars group

Sister Nancy Mathias, vicar for religious for the Toledo Catholic Diocese, has been elected president of the National Conference of Vicars for Religious. An Ursuline nun, Sister Nancy has been a member of the conference board since 2003, serving as national secretary and vice president.

As national president, she will convene and coordinate meetings and activities of the conference's executive board as well as communicate and collaborate with members, committees, and the board on a range of issues related to consecrated life. She also is liaison and consultant to other national conferences.

The conference of vicars elected its new slate of officers at the 45th annual assembly held in Chicago March 18-22.
