MADRID -- Spain's Interior Ministry says police have arrested four people in the theft of a priceless collection of 12th-century religious manuscripts.

A ministry spokesman said an electrician who worked at a cathedral in the northwestern city of Santiago de Compostela from where the Calixtinus Codex was stolen a year ago was arrested along with his wife and son and a second woman.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with ministry regulations, said police found $1.26 million in a house belonging to one of the detainees.
