Joyce A. Harvey, a contributing author for the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and Kay Bevington, founder of Alive Alone Inc., are to speak at a free workshop in August intended for those grieving the loss of a child or grandchild.

The workshop, titled "Grieving the Loss of a Child: Finding New Life Following the Death of a Child," is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Michael the Archangel's auditorium, 750 Bright Rd., Findlay.

Ms. Harvey, whose only daughter died in 1995 while serving in the Marine Corps, is a motivational speaker and writer on the topic of grief and loss. Ms. Bevington and her husband, Rodney, started Alive Alone Inc., after the death of their only child in 1980. The organization helps bereaved parents network and publishes a periodical for bereaved parents.

Registration is due by Aug. 8 to Germaine Kirk, Catholic Charities social ministry program coordinator. Call 419-244-6711, extension 225, or email gkirk@toledodiocese.org.
