Pastor to be installed for 2 Defiance churches

DEFIANCE -- Special services are to held Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and St. Mark's Lutheran Church to mark the installment of Reverend Randolph "Robbie" Ketcham as the pastor of both churches.

The first service is to be at 9 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Adams Ridge and Youngman roads, Defiance.

The second service is to be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Nagel Road near Domersville Road, Defiance.

Local Muslims mark Ramadan with donation

The Islamic Food Bank of Toledo donated $4,000 to the Toledo Seagate Food Bank on Friday, according to a statement from the food bank.

The donation, made on behalf of multiple Muslim organizations in the Toledo area, is intended to mark the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

"On the first day of our holiest month, our goal is to make it a true reflection of the human spirit in compassion and mercy by extending a hand to those in need and building bridges with others on the principles of respect and mutual understanding," the food bank said.
