Epworth United Methodist Church is kicking off its Six Super Saturdays of Service on Aug. 25. On consecutive Saturdays, at least 100 volunteers from Epworth will engage in service projects for agencies in the Toledo area.

Lasting three to four hours each, the projects will involve people of different ages and skills. Child care will be provided.

Partner organizations and agencies will include the Northwest Ohio Food Bank, Metroparks of the Toledo Area, Sunshine Children's Home (a nonprofit organization that offers services and programs for people with developmental disabilities and their families), Toledo Grows (the community gardening outreach program of the Toledo Botanical Garden), Ohio National Guard Partners in Care, and Family Outreach Community United Services, an interfaith not-for-profit agency working to end homelessness.

Volunteers also can choose to bake cookies and make blankets at Epworth.

Cookouts and other opportunities for social engagement will accompany the service activities.

The event is open to the community. Those interested in participating, are asked to email info@epworth.com or sign up on the Web site www.epworth.com.
