Agency offers session on infant adoption

Catholic Charities is to present information about infant adoption from 6-9 p.m. Thursday during a program at the Diocese of Toledo's Catholic Center, 1933 Spielbusch Ave.

The agency, part of the Toledo diocese, works with married couples of all religious backgrounds on domestic adoptions of infants 6 months old or younger.

For international adoptions, Catholic Charities conducts home studies and refers couples to international agencies. Representatives of two such groups will be present, said Joy Shakur, director of adoptions for Catholic Charities.

Since August, 2011, Catholic Charities has handled 17 domestic adoptions, Ms. Shakur said.
