Michael Gartz will play the first solo recital on Trinity Episcopal Church’s Casavant organ at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church, 316 Adams St., in Toledo. A free-will donation is requested for admission.

Mr. Gartz is the organist for the Toledo Diocesan Choir at the Roman Catholic Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral and the Toledo-based Canterbury Singers USA as well as for Trinity. Included in his playlist are compositions by Margaret Weber, teacher and longtime Toledo Choral Society accompanist, who will be in attendance; close friend Robert Noehren, the late recording artist and University of Michigan organist; and James Spencer, the late chair of Adrian College’s music department and organist at Trinity, whose daughter will be at the concert. Pieces by J. S. Bach, Cesar Fanck, and Percy Whitlock are also on the bill.

The organ at Trinity was built in 2005. “My program was chosen to showcase its versatility and adaptability for music of different nationalities composed over a 200-year span,” Mr. Gartz said in an email.
