BGSU professor given Samaritan award
11/3/2012The Samaritan Institute has given an award to Kenneth Pargament, a Bowling Green State University psychology professor and distinguished scholar at the Institute for Spirituality and Health at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
On Friday, Mr. Pargament received the National Samaritan Award, which recognizes contributions to human health and growth by people who “have demonstrated a religious sensibility in their work.” His work in the psychology of religion brought Mr. Pargament to the attention of the Samaritan Institute, which provides counseling at almost 500 locations in the United States and Japan.
