Diocese plans events for adoption month

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo is to have a movie, dinner, and a Mass on three days in November to celebrate National Adoption Month.

Carolyn’s Story, a short film that follows a birth mother associated with Catholic Charities through her steps of giving her child to a family, is to be screened Sunday at Fat Fish Blue, 6140 Levis Commons Blvd., Perrysburg. The program starts at 1 p.m. Lunch orders can be placed the first hour, and after the film the birth mother and the adoptive family will be present for questions and answers. The event is to end at 4 p.m.

On Wednesday, the organization has planned a celebrity grill night, with raffles benefiting the Family Connections department of Catholic Charities, at bd’s Mongolian Grill, Westfield Franklin Park, 5001 Monroe St., from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children, and reservations must be made by Tuesday.

On Nov. 18, families involved in an adoption regardless of the agency involved are invited to a 10 a.m. Mass with a special blessing at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd.

RSVPs are requested by Nov. 14.
