The holidays give some people the blues, especially with the death of a loved one. First Presbyterian Church of Maumee on Tuesday will present “Grief Share: Surviving the Holidays,” to help those trying to cope.

“This time of year can be very hard and often looks like an obstacle course” to people with memories or anticipation of a family member's death, said the Rev. Clint Tolbert, First Presbyterian's pastor.

The seminar will present video of counselors, grief experts, and people who have endured the holidays after a loved one's death. The holiday-grief experience, how to manage, and healing are among the topics included. Attendees will receive a book on getting through the holidays.

Admission is free; a light meal is included for the event that runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, 200 E. Broadway. Call the First Presbyterian office at 419-893-0223 or email staff@fpcmaumee.org for more information.
