Diocese still seeks funds for Sandy victims

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo is continuing fund-raising efforts to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy after receiving more than $100,000 by late last week, according to a diocesan statement.

Donations gathered in the Toledo diocese’s 19 counties are forwarded to Catholic Charities USA, which distributes them to Catholic Charities agencies along the East Coast, where Sandy struck Oct. 28.

Funds are used for food, shelter, and other emergency aid, housing repair and rebuilding, and case management.

Checks payable to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Toledo may be mailed to or dropped off at 1933 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43604. Write “hurricane relief” in the memo line.
