Local Mass to celebrate Pope on Benedict XVI retirement day

A papal Mass is scheduled in Toledo on Thursday — a Mass celebrated in appreciation of Pope Benedict XVI on the day of the Pope’s retirement after nearly eight years.

Bishop Leonard P. Blair of the Toledo Diocese will celebrate the Mass in gratitude for Benedict’s service and leadership. The service is at noon at St. Francis de Sales Chapel, 501 Cherry St.
