The Rev. Rich Melheim, a speaker, TV family counselor, and author of the newly published book Holding Your Family Together: 5 Simple Steps to Bring Your Family Closer to God and Each Other, will be at Olivet Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon and evening. He is making a stop in Sylvania as part of his 55-city international tour about Faith5. Faith5 is a five-step faith practice; the name stands for Faith Acts In The Home.

From 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., he will lead church team training on family ministry with sections on parenting, youth, and children’s ministries and on worship. To register for the afternoon workshop, go to www.faith5.org. Cost is $100 for one person, less for each additional person in the group, and a cap of $300. Seminary students and retired ministers can attend for the $10 cost of materials.

At 6:30 p.m., Pastor Melheim offers a free comedy event for all ages, angled toward getting families involved in faith practice. Attendees are encouraged to bring a pillow for a pillow fight afterward.
