Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations

Miss Cue's Billiards, 1720 South Reynolds, inspected Dec. 8. Critical violations: Observed employee with a ring preparing food. Food preparation employees are not to wear jewelry on their arms, or hands; only a plain wedding band is acceptable. Observed kitchen employee not wearing hair restraint. Employees must wear hair restraints to protect food from falling contaminants. Concentration of sanitizer in wipe bucket was too strong. Wet wiping cloth was found on counter at bar. Wet wiping cloths used to clean spills and wipe food contract surface must be stored in bucket of water with sanitizer when not in use. Employees must wash hands before putting on new gloves. Ipoh Chinese Restaurant, 3527 Dorr, inspected Dec. 9. Critical violations: Eggs stored on plate at top of prep top cooler above food. Store eggs at the bottom of prep top cooler to protect food from cross contamination. Inspector: Cynthia Garcia.

The Ale House, 3534 Dorr, inspected Dec. 11. Critical violation: Wet wiping cloth found on bar. Keep all wiping cloths in a bucket of sanitzer and water at the correct concentration. Inspector: Garcia.

Vito's Pizza, 7060 Sylvania, Sylvania, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violation: Employees must wear disposable plastic gloves when making salads or subs. Salad was discarded. Inspector: Herzberg.

Cooley Canal Yacht Club, 12235 Bono, Curtice, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violation: Observed unused fryer shortening stored directly on floor in dry storage room. All food products must be stored at least 6 inches off floor to prevent contamination. Inspector: Jaclyn Kistler.

Sodbuster's Grill, 5758 North Main, Sylvania, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violation: All prepared or processed potentially hazardous foods must be properly marked with a preparation date or the date that the manufacturer's seal was broken, the food is safe through the seventh day if kept at 41 degrees or less. Inspector: Karim Baroudi.

Chopsticks Chinese, 5155 South Main, Sylvania, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violations: Make a fresh bottle of quat sanitizer every day, use this sanitizer to sanitize work surfaces. Raw eggs must be stored below produce in walk-in cooler. Raw meat must be stored below or away from produce in walk-in cooler. Inspector: Herzberg.

Wilson's Bar and Grill, 26 Fassett, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violation: Chicken and dumplings were stored in a sour cream container cooling in the refrigerator. Food should be cooled in a shallow pan without a cover. Inspector: Jennifer Gottschalk.

McDonald's, 1540 Broadway, inspected Dec. 12. Critical violation: Food must be stored at least 6 inches off the floor to prevent contamination. Inspector: Mike Butcher.

Messina's Italian Deli, 235 South Erie, inspected Dec. 8. Critical violations: Dispose of all cheese or food items with mold growth to prevent growth and spread to other food items; cheese was discarded. Wear gloves when handling ready-to-eat foods. Inspector: Butcher.

Target, 5225 Monroe, inspected Dec. 8. Critical violation: Voluntarily destroyed 8 cans of expired baby formula. Rotate and closely monitor expiration month of product. Inspector: Baroudi.

Kmart, 2830 Navarre, Oregon, inspected Dec. 9. Critical violations: Baby food and baby products offered for sale past expiration dates, voluntarily discarded. Observed wrinkle release stored next to and above food items. Provide a separate storage area for chemicals. Inspector: Kistler.

Community Variety, 2165 Ashland, inspected Dec. 10. Critical violation: Macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and spaghetti at 123 degrees in steam table. Potentially hazardous foods must be held at 140 degrees or more to inhibit the growth of bacteria. All foods taken out of service. Reheat in microwave to 165 degrees or greater then put in hot holding at 140 degrees or greater. Inspector: Debbie Dacquisto.

Kroger's, 6235 Monroe, inspected Dec. 11. Critical violation: Cottage cheese, eggs, and other products stacked in a manner preventing proper air flow. Inspector: Baroudi.

Pizza Hut, 5810 Monroe, Sylvania, inspected Dec. 11. Critical violation: All prepared and processed potentially hazardous foods must be clearly marked with an open date or the day the seal is broken and a 7-day expiration date; items used within 24 hours don't need to be date marked. Inspector: Baroudi.

Papa Murphy's Take-N-Bake, 5350 Airport, inspected Dec. 8. Critical violations: Employees may not wear jewelry on their arms or hands while preparing food, a plain wedding band is acceptable. Employees must wear hair restraints such as hats or hair nets to protect food from falling contaminants. Inspector: Garcia.

Churchill's, 3320 Briarfield, Maumee, inspected Dec. 8. Critical violations: Candies, melons, salad, and bread found without proper labeling. Squash in three-compartment sink, only use the prep sink for vegetable prepping. Provide scoops for the self-serve peanut station. Inspector: Butcher.
