PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a sister newspaper of The Blade, reached a tentative, five-year agreement this week with the Pittsburgh Newspaper Unity Council, which represents 1,100 workers in 10 unions at the newspaper.

The two sides have been negotiating since September, with the last contract expiring Dec. 31. “I think we reached a fair agreement for both the company and employees,” said David Beihoff, vice president and general manager of the Post-Gazette. Joe Molinero, co-chairman of the Pittsburgh Newspaper Unity Council, said, “It is a fair contract for both of us.”
