Kroger on East Manhattan in Toledo to close

Kroger Co. said Thursday it will close its Toledo store located at 559 East Manhattan Blvd. on Oct. 10.

Bruce Macaulay, president of Kroger s Columbus division, which includes all Toledo area stores, said employees of the store will be offered transfers to other Kroger locations. No reason was provided for the closing.

The grocery chain, which is headquartered in Cincinnati, said it also is relocating its Waterville store to a new location nearby that will open in 2010, and that it plans to build another store in Perrysburg on a site yet to be determined.
