New Family Dollar rises in Toledo

Bancroft St. The 8,000-square-foot store is expected to be open by Jan. 1, and it will employ eight to 10 workers, a spokesman for the chain said. Family Dollar, based in Matthews N.C., purchased the 0.5-acre site at the end of June for $320,000. The Bancroft store will be Family Dollar's 20th location in Metro Toledo. The retailers, which specializes in discount goods but also carries food items, is opening between 450 and 500 stores in 2012.
